Today (on December 16, 2020) would be the day of the topping-out ceremony. Unfortunately we have to postpone this due to the corona. But we're catching up with the companies. Promised!
At this point it is time to say thank you to all the companies involved in the construction so far. Thanks for the speedy construction process, we only had one day off due to the rain. We, my wife and I, would like to thank the company Hoch-, Tief- und Ingenieurbau Döhnert from Hartha, and especially the foreman Frank Eichhorn and his team. Despite the shorter and shorter days, work was carried out from daylight until dark. On Saturdays, too, things went well. Our thanks also go to the Jens Weishaupt company from Freital, who punctually brought the media into the ditch. The Elektro Kraft company set up the construction site electricity so that the construction container could also be heated. The master roofer Heiko Schilling and his men will close the roof this week. Previously, carpenter Andre Böhme and his team had set up the roof structure within two days.
But our biggest thanks go to the Freital engineering firm Andreas Fischer. The head of the company of the same name has accompanied our ambitious project from the start. It was he who gave our dreams a dimension. A pencil sketch thrown loosely on paper is reminiscent of a first meeting to collect ideas. The ingenious thing about it is that it is exactly this house - changed by one or the other irrelevant detail. His employees also turned out to be just as creative as the boss. For example, they thought through the pension rooms and the associated functional rooms down to the last detail. You have identified yourself absolutely with the project and - at least ideally - brought it to life. Thanks a lot for this!
It is fun to be a builder when you can see the commitment with which our local companies do their work.
Thank you all! Kerstin & Eyk
December 18, 2020: The underlays have been laid and the house is rain and snow proof. Now all companies involved are going on the well-deserved Christmas and New Year holidays until January 3, 2021.
